Review of Institutional Review Board (IRB) of medical institutions completed for the clinical trial targeting the treatment of intractable skin ulcers with human adipose tissue-derived platelet-like cells (ASCL-PLC)

AdipoSeeds developing human adipose tissue-derived platelet-like cells ( ASCL-PLC , development code ADS-01 ) for the treatment of intractable skin ulcers .

We are pleased to announce that the Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) at the three clinical trial sites—Keio University Hospital, Tokyo Saiseikai Central Hospital, and Kawasaki Municipal Kawasaki Hospital—have completed their reviews in preparation for the commencement of the ADS-01 clinical trial.

We will proceed with preparations to promptly initiate the clinical trial of ADS-01 for the treatment of intractable skin ulcers .

In developing human adipose tissue-derived platelet-like cells ( ASCL-PLC) for the treatment of refractory skin ulcers , the investigator-led first-in-human study was already being conducted at Keio University Hospital. The results have been published in Regenerative Therapy (Volume 30, December 2025, Pages 606-615) , showing no particular concerns regarding the safety of ASCL-PLC and demonstrating a certain level of efficacy, including complete ulcer closure within 12 weeks of administration .

To proceed with this clinical trial, we have been selected for the “Drug Discovery Venture Ecosystem Strengthening Project” for fiscal year 2024 by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) .
